What is the Summer Youth Employment Program?

The purpose of this program is to create a talent and workforce development initiative for the youth of the City of Tomball, Texas and enhance career awareness and readiness of young adults. This program aims to provide meaningful, paid summer employment opportunities in a variety of industries, giving hands-on experience and a taste of real-world work environments. The TEDC Youth Employment Program was made available to young adults aged 16-20 who attend high school or college within the City of Tomball or the TISD jurisdiction.

What I Learned From The Experience

Communication Skills

An internship improved my communication skills by providing real-world practice with colleagues and clients, enhancing both verbal and written interactions. It also offers feedback and collaboration opportunities that helped me improve.

hard Skills

I expected to learn about Media, Marketing, and Web Development, but instead, I experienced the detailed strategies involved in each area and how each aspect is a big part of business.

My future

A marketing internship gives me an advantage over some of my peers as I enter college. It enhances my understanding of business and allows me to apply the skills I've learned to various aspects of the field.

FT. Beefy Marketing & TEDC

Entering this summer TEDC internship, I was unsure of what to expect. However, as an Intern, I’ve learned that Beefy Marketing equips small businesses with essential digital tools and strategies for success in today’s competitive landscape. They focus on generating leads, increasing revenue, and strengthening market presence through results-driven strategies that enhance online visibility and convert leads into loyal customers. This internship has been a valuable opportunity for me to grow in the business field, and being part of the TEDC’s internship program, which also aims to boost businesses’ online presence and success, has been a rewarding experience.
